Martin’s Ave replaced the original homestead that had occupied the site since the 1920’s. From the road the house retains key features of the Arts and Crafts Bungalow including the notable roofline over the entrance way, attic windows and the clay tile roof. While features of the original house were retained on the exterior facing the road, the home was completely redesigned, making the most of the views over Orakei Basin to Rangitoto, and the north facing sun. The new design includes expansive open-plan living, office, separate guest quarters, garaging, and a large master suite and bedrooms upstairs. The interior is timeless and quality, including a stunning wine cellar, crittall doors leading to the living area, and a spectacular staircase. This coupled with the latest in-home automation has resulted in a beautiful home that is the perfect blend of the original home and the latest in modern living. |
