This project is one of the first incarnations of our Mini Coolhouse range of architecturally designed, low energy, premium built cabins. At just 27sqm, it’s small, but packs a big punch in terms of features and innovation.
In this instance, our client wanted an extra bedroom, but not the inconvenience of renovating his existing home. He had a suitable patch of land adjacent, so we decided on a stand-alone design, featuring a bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette – and the Mini Coolhouse was a perfect solution.
This version of the Min Coolhouse is fully passive and contains an HRV system, meaning it is low energy in terms of upkeep and on-going energy costs. It was also up-specced to a very high standard, to include cavity external doors, hidden internal doors, a lime-washed timber lining, and Italian tiles in the bathroom. It also features a freestanding bathtub on the deck.
